Michael's Sports

Below you will find links to web pages that have been done of different sports that I am involved in. I also have put some things on this page about sports I love and may only do with my family and not in a league. I hope you enjoy sports like I do and enjoy reading about the sports I love to be part of.

1.) Soccer; the first league sport I took part in. Click here to see my soccer page.

2.) Baseball; the second league sport I joined. Click here to see my baseball page.

3.) Basketball; the third league sport I joined. Click here to see my basketball page.

4.) Bowling; I have never been on a bowling league, but I love to bowl and my last birthday party was held at the Spring Hill Lanes and we had a lot of fun.

5.) Golf; This is my next sport. I say this because I have never yet gotten to play golf for real, but my family and I play mini golf as often as we can and they know I really want to get out on a real golf course and play. I alreay have a full set of clubs I can use and dad has said we will get to play the game soon.

6.) Archery; I have my own bow and dad and I get to shoot at a target in the back yard every once in a while. I am pretty good, but dad is even better than I am.

7.) Sport Shooting; The title is a little off, dad says he will teach me to shoot when I am old enough. He has taught me all about gun safety, and I mean all about it. Dad knows that firearms have killed too many kids and that we must all do everything possible to keep shooting and hunting safe.
My dad says he has not hunted in a long time and feels that as long as he can buy his food in a store he probably will not hunt again. However as long as the entire animal is used he has no problem with real hunters. He has told me if we owned a cow he would paint cow on it's side every fall just because too many people hunt who should not be out there!
Now to why this is on this sheet. My Uncle Joe bought me a BB gun several years ago for Christmas and he and my dad and I, and since he passed away, just my dad and I go out and target shoot a lot. Again we always do it safely and dad has made me treat even my cap guns like they are real so you know he is very aware of my using the BB gun. I am a very good shot, and I have become a very safe shooter. I know that dad will be taking me to the range he belongs to and teaching me with a real firearm sometime soon and I can't wait.
We have deer here in the woods on our property and I love to watch them eat, and play and run, I think I am with my dad and I don't think I really want to go hunting, however I do want to learn to shoot.

8.) Fishing; I have not gotten to go fishing very much in my life, but the few times I have gone I love it. I was with my mom, dad and my Uncle Joe the first time I caught a fish. It was at a lake up in Georgia and I caught a dozen that day, we threw them all back as the fun was in catching them and we were not going to eat them so we let them go. I have only been fishing in the Ocean once, and even though I did not catch anything I had a great time trying.

9.) Football; I only get to play football in P.E. and with my friends here at my house. Sometimes my dad will throw the ball around with me and even he says I have been developing a pretty good arm. I think I would like to play football, but football season is right on top of both baseball and basketball and I do not want to give up either of these to try out for football. I do think I will play football sometime however, it is too much fun not to try for at least one season.

10.) Camping; okay so camping is not a sport. However when we go camping we usually take the canoe and go canoeing and that is a sport. We always go into the water and swim and that is a sport. I always have a football or my glove and baseball and get mom and dad to throw them around with me at some point and time. So I am placing camping on this sports page and telling you it is at the top of my list for great times.

11.) Canoeing; I love to take our canoe to the river and go out for the day. We always have a good time. I still have not learned how to make it go where I want it to, but dad says I will catch on to this thing called a "J" stroke soon.

12.) Net Games: Badminton, Volleyball, Tennis Ping-Pong and all of their variations. I love each of these games. Once again I do not have time to play any of them as much as I would like, but I do play each and if I say so myself I am pretty good at each.

13.) Horse shoes; My dads uncle was the New Jersey and the Florida State Champion at one time or another so I come by this sport naturally. I remember learning with plastic horseshoes and how hard it was the first time I picked up a real horseshoe and tried to throw it to the spike, I mean it was heavy. I now get it down there without much trouble, however the Florida State Champion has nothing to fear from me!

14.) Horseback riding; this is my Sister Cindy's sport! She has a lot of horses and she and her daughters enter in horse shows and everything. As a matter of fact a neat story here is that when Cindy got her first horse Easter when she was real young, not even a teen yet! She entered a horse show here in Brooksville, and won a blue ribbon on her horse Easter in the first show either she or Easter was ever in. Many years later her daughter Kaycee entered her first horse show and won a blue ribbon too, on? You guess it Easter! My sister Cindy still has Easter and even though she is the oldest horse I have ever been around, she is doing wonderful in her old age and is still ridden all of the time. I know it is not polite to give a woman's age so I will just say that Cindy got Easter before she was a teen-ager, Easter is still with her today and Kaycee her daughter is a teenager already! This should help you with an idea of how long Cindy has had "HER" horse Easter.
Maybe someday I will have a horse and then I can join other family members who enjoy horses so much. I already know I love them, and going to a good rodeo is a great way to spend some time. Unless like this year the rodeo gets hit with a monsoon! We got really wet at the Brooksville Rodeo this year, but we still had a great time.

15.) Bicycling; I love to ride my bike, I think I would also like to ride motorcycles, I have been on the back of one, but as of yet have not had the chance to be in control of one yet. My friend does motorcross and loves it, dad has had several "bikes" and except for feeling everyone on the road is trying to kill him loves to ride. I know that a motor will replace my foot-powered bike someday but for now it is just fine with me that I have to do the work myself.

16.) Skating; I love to roller-skate! We go to the rink as often as possible and I just love to skate. I have not yet been on Ice Skates so I really don't know if I will love it as much, but I am looking forward to getting a chance to find out.

17.) Croquet; another game that we set up and play in the yard and a lot of fun for sure.

18.) Dodge and tetherball; two more games I love to play and am pretty good at.

19.) Frisbee Throwing; This is moms doing she love to throw a Frisbee and we go out and do this on a regular basis.

My goal is to earn all the Presidential Sports Awards I can. To date, I have earned the Award in Martial Arts, Tae Kwon Do, Soccer, Sports/Fitness, Judo, and the Karate, Baseball and basketball awards twice each.
